The Jet City All Starts Take It All at Wild West Skatedown!

The Jet City All Stars certainly earned the big smiles on their faces (and some much deserved rest for the week). This past weekend, the Jet City traveling team competed in the Wild West Skatedown Tournament in Arizona and showed everyone they are a force to be reckoned with!

On Friday, the All Stars first went toe(stop)-to-toe(stop) with GVRDA Summit, with Jet City taking the win with a 198 to 108 final score.

In their second match-up against the N AZ Outlaws, Jet City started their Saturday off right with an impress score of 218 to 87!

Jet’s final bout of the weekend was against the SoCal Kraken, a team that was certainly going to make the All Stars work to stay in the game. Nerves were high as the teams finished the half with nearly even scores, but the second half is when Jet City likes to kick it up a notch! They pulled out all the stops to win with a final score of 136 to 67.

With 3 sanctioned wins over the tournament weekend, the All Stars raised Jet City’s WFTDA ranking to #6!

And guess what, the fun isn’t over yet!
In just a few weeks (10/19-10/20), the Jet City All Stars will be heading to Colorado to do it all again as they compete at Besterns Tournament!

We will be hosting a live viewing watch party at Broadview Tap House for the Jet v Boulder game on Saturday (10/19) @ 1PM!
Come join the Jet City league as we cheer on our All Stars!
    Good beers. Good cheers.
All ages (and dogs) are welcome!

  • Jet City Travel Team Tryouts Announced

    Competitive derby is back, baby!

Jet City has announced open tryouts for their competitive WFTDA travel team, previously known as the Bombers. Tryouts are open to both current Jet City league members and non-members, however all skaters selected to join the team will be required to join the JCRD league.

Tryouts will be held on two consecutive Mondays, February 13th and 20th, at the Marysville Skate Center from 9-11 pm. If you are interested, please email info@jetcityrollerderby.com with the subject header “Bombers.”

Prior to COVID-19 shutdowns, the Bombers were ranked No. 43 worldwide. The new season of competitive play is set to start in November 2023, which is when sanctioned bouts are expected to resume. We are very excited to see what the new era of Jet City competitive play will look like!

  • !! SNOHO COLLISION ANNOUNCEMENT: 2020 CANCELLED !!

    Dearest Jet City fans,

We are sad to announce that with the COVID-19 outbreak here in Washington State and your health and safety our top priority, the Snoho Collision Tournament will not be taking place this April, 2020.

We would like to thank the TPA Fund of Snohomish County for their support of this event and making it even possible. Jet City is still very excited to host our first tournament, and hope that you too will look forward to next year!

There WILL be a Snoho Collision next April 9-10, 2021.

And now, the official letter from your tournament organizers:

We have come to the very difficult decision to cancel Snoho Collision 2020. With the COVID-19 outbreak within Washington State, as of March 11, 2020, Governor Jay Inslee has instituted a mandate that all events taking place in Snohomish County with more than 250 people are prohibited.  We have consulted with our team here and are following the guidelines of local and state officials by canceling the tournament.

At this time there is no plan to reschedule this event this season due to the unknown nature of the course that the COVID-19 will take. We do, however, plan to hold this event next year, and hope that you will attend in April 2021.

We appreciate your continued collaboration with us and urge you to email us with any questions or concerns you may have at this time. Thank you so much for understanding.

    Please stay healthy and safe,

    Ruby and Ivana

JCRG Bombers at D2 and how it all went down!

    bomb

Jet City Roller Derby would like to congratulate their all-star Bombers for an outstanding performance in the D2 Playoffs in Pittsburgh. The Bombers took home the 6th place trophy and will start the 2018 season ranked higher than when they entered the playoffs.

The Bombers played in four games throughout the weekend culminating in a nail biting finish. Jet City played a total of 4 games over the weekend wining two and losing two.

The first game the skaters in blue took on Treasure Valley Roller Derby, a team they had played twice before. Both teams started strong, but Jet City was able to show their skill and ended the first half leading 113 – 53.  During the second half the Bombers continued to dominate with several double digit jams and effective blocking to come out with an impressive win of 220-115.

On the second day of the D2 playoffs the Bombers took on Naptown Rollergirls. The first half was very close with the Bombers narrowly edging out Naptown with a score 99 -85. The game quickly changed after halftime though with Naptown pulling ahead and never letting up. The final score was an upset for Jet City at 218-129 and they would face No Coast later in the afternoon.

Jet City started out their game against No Coast strong, then coupled that consistency with several large and unanswered scoring passes. This put Jet City up 103 to 61 at the half.  The Bombers continued to control the game during the second half and came out with a win 182 – 163.

The Bombers took on Tucson Roller Derby for fifth place in their final game.  Jet City held Tucson for most of the first half ending with a score of 105-81. Tucson and Jet City changed lead throughout the second half ending in a tie for the last jam. Tucson was able to put up 11 unanswered points and take the win 194 – 183.

Come check out your Jet City Bombers and the rest of our skaters at the first home bout September 9th at Edmonds Community College.
