To Be Decided
Throughout all seasons of derby, during half time, some skaters are recognized as MVP or MVJ for their efforts in the bout. Each bout has 2-4 skaters who get an award for their rock star performance.
In addition to this, like most end of the year parties, we take the time to mention other skaters for their efforts all season. This year many people were acknowledged for thier growth, effort, appearance, intimidation level as well as their attitude.
The list that follows is of all the awards voted on by league skaters and awarded to league skaters for the end of Season 9; Click names to get acquainted with your new heroes!!!
The Jet City Rollergirls are holding their FINAL bout of the season on April 16th, and you better be there, or be square.
This year we have a double header and a repeat of season 8. With The Hula Honeys going up against the CarnEvil for the 3rd place slot this year. Both teams are evenly matched and if you were there for the 3rd bout this season you know your going to have a close and thrilling game to experience. Then the Camaro Harem are duking it out against the Pink Pistols once again, but this time for the Championship title. This could be the 3rd year in a row that the Harem holds the championship trophy. However, the Pistols are out for blood and they have been training hard all season to take back what they feel is theirs. Back at champs in Season 7, the Pistols were also gunning for their 3rd Season Championship win, when the ladies in orange picked up the speed and the JCRG Home team trophy. Wether its a repeat of last year or the year prior its anyone’s game. One thing is for sure, this is NOT a game you want to miss.
As always; there will be awesome beer from Redhook in the beer garden, Hot Dogs by the ever delicious Dantes Inferno Dogs, and popcorn and soda for sale as well.

We are the few, the proud, the derby playing ladies (and gents). We pride ourselves on our ability to be intimidating and tough competitors. We do things on skates that our fans, family and friends idolize; but what is most notable out on the track is attitude. It doesn’t matter if you are a seasoned derby veteran or a freshly drafted cadet, how you handle yourself on the rink speaks a great deal to your character. This is ESPECIALLY true when you are having an off day.
How easy is it to be positive and motivating when you’re kicking @$$ and feeling indestructible?! Devastating opponent’s walls while jamming, making the other teams jammers furious by recycling them to the back of the pack and being ‘the problem’ while blocking. Heck, I’m pumped up and motivated just envisioning myself in those situations! But what happens when it’s one of those days? Those dreaded days or moments when everything you fear comes true. Your skates aren’t cooperating, your body hurts, your mind knows what to do but it isn’t happening, and everything you practiced will just NOT work no matter how hard you try. I could go on and on, but what matters is, how do you handle it?
Are you visually frustrated? Yelling at refs, skaters, even coaches? Accidentally offending teammates instead of giving constructive criticism?
Truth is, THIS is when your team needs you the most. The precedent you set when you are in a funk attests to what type of skater you choose to be! This is what defines you as either an asset, or a ‘negative-Nancy’. Every time I feel myself getting sucked into the negative vortex of no return I challenge myself to do the following:
Finding beneficial take-a way’s from a less than ideal time is a way to actively TRY to fix it! So on the days I’m falling A LOT, jamming through the pack as slow as a turtle running through molasses on a cold winter day, or blocking a jammer about as successfully as an old western swinging saloon door, I challenge myself to smile and be the best teammate I can be. I have the power to make sure my off day doesn’t affect anyone else; and being a great teammate, that’s something I can be proud of.
So you had an off day? I challenge you to take that as an opportunity to grow, and guess what? Tomorrow is another day and another opportunity to CRUSH it!

Anyways, today we added a new tab under the “Home Team” Menu, It is to honor the skaters who have moved onto bigger or different things. These are our retired skaters. The list is short as of yet; but keep an eye out for our founding sisters and past retirees as we continue to update this page. After 9 years there are quite a few gals to remember.

The Hula Honeys will be taking on the Camaro Harem in the 2nd bout. If you were present for this match up last year; the hulas were the only team to beat the harem, so this is sure to be a great rematch!! Don’t miss it!

After a 2014 season that ended in a thrilling 1-point championship game, JCRG fans have more close matchups to look forward to as the league’s 8th season begins Jan. 24, 2015 with a double-header replaying the final two clashes of last year.
In the first bout of the night, Carnevil hopes for a repeat win against a determined bunch of Hula Honeys. The rematch of last season’s title game will see a small but mighty Pink Pistols team working to unseat the defending champion, Camaro Harem.
Watch for fresh faces on track for each team, including new draftees from JCRG’s training program, veterans returning from injuries, and off-season transfer skaters My Tai Smashya (Dockyard Derby Dames), UnaBOMBher (Taco Kickers), Sheeza Brickhouse (Rat City Rollergirls) and Shock StopHer (Rainier Rollergirls).
Tickets are available online at Brown Paper Tickets. A limited number may be available at the doors, but almost every game sold out early last season. All home bouts will take place at Shoreline Derby Center, 19022 Aurora Ave N, Shoreline, WA 98133. Don’t miss any of the action!
