  • Rainy Season Rumble Lead-Up: Who’s Who?

    Hello Derby Fans!

Jet City is beyond excited to present our very first tournament: the Rainy Season Rumble! Happening March 21st-23rd, this round robin style event is co-hosted with Mob City Junior Roller Derby.

You can get tickets here! With 12 games happening across 3 days of non stop derby action, it’s an event that can’t be missed!

Our tournament features several teams traveling from all across North America, from both WFTDA leagues and JRDA leagues! Today we’re going to take some time to introduce each team, and appreciate the time they’re spending to come and play with us soon!

WFTDA (Women’s Flat Track Derby Association) Teams

    Jet City Roller Derby

Founded in 2006 and based out of Everett, WA, your co-host and home team, and where yours truly hails from.

    Arizona Roller Derby

Hailing from the Phoenix area, AZRD was founded in 2003, making them the second-oldest flat track league in the world! They are a charter member for WFTDA, and also have a strong Juniors team and program.

They primarily play at Bell Bank Park in Mesa, Arizona, and host two annual tournaments, The Cactus Cup and Monsoon Madness.

  • Do the Autumn Mash with Jet City this Saturday

Do the Autumn Mash with Jet City this Saturday

We all Fall down sometimes. In derby, the important thing is to get back up and hit a b*tch.

Come to our very special Autumn Mashup bout this Saturday, November 18, to see dozens of local athletes do just that. Jet City has invited skaters from the PNW derby community to skate with and against us in what’s sure to be a very special evening of roller hijinks—two games that will cast friends as enemies until the clock counts down to the final whistle. (At which point expect much hugging and many high-fives).

But feelings aren’t the only things getting mashed this weekend. In honor of this harvest season and the following weekend’s celebration of gluttony, Jet City has partnered with the Edmonds Food Bank, a local organization currently providing groceries for 800 households a week. You can support their mission of creating food security in the greater Edmonds area in three ways:

    1. Bring 3 or more non-perishable food items, toiletries, baby supplies,
and/or household cleaning supplies to the bout and receive a free bag
      of popcorn in return.
    2. Buy tickets to our 50/50 raffle for a chance to go home with half the
pot—and feel good about sending the other half to Edmonds Food
      Bank.
    3. Make a monetary donation when buying bout tickets.

The doors (and beer & cider garden) of Edmonds College’s Seaview Gym open at 4pm, with the first whistle at 5 pm. Admission is $15 in advance or $18 at the door, with discounts for seniors, kids, and military.
Children 5 and under are always free.

And the fun doesn’t have to end at the last whistle—all guests of legal drinking age are invited to join the Jet City After Party at The Bulldog Saloon (19920 WA-99, Lynnwood—about two blocks from Seaview Gym), a fun space with pool, darts, a touch tunes jukebox, and a kitchen serving late.

Is there a better way to Fall into the season than watching skaters beat the stuffing out of each other, with a side of popcorn? We didn’t think so. See you there!

  • Valentines Day Bout this Weekend!

Just in time for Valentine’s day, we’ve got the best idea for a smashing date night!

Bring your sweetie to our Saturday bout, and watch as hearts (and helmets) collide on the track! Maybe you’ll even find yourself falling… in LOVE!

Doors (and beer garden) open at 4 pm, and first whistle is at 5 pm.

    Will we see you there?

Farmer Frog helps schools and communities build and maintain food gardens which are used to teach kids, students and families about growing and eating healthy food while protecting the environment. Their mission is to end child hunger and to build safe communities by empowering people to grow their own food.
